Review: Brilliant Camera – Easy to Set Up, Great App, and No
Wires Needed! - Honestly, I couldn’t be happier with this
solar-powered security camera. From the moment it arrived,
everything about it just worked. The setup was incredibly
straightforward – I had it connected and running in less than 10
minutes. The instructions were clear, and the app guided me
through everything step by step. Speaking of the app, it’s
genuinely one of the best I’ve used for smart tech. It’s smooth,
intuitive, and lets you customise alerts, view live footage, and
scroll back through events without any hassle. The notifications
come through quickly and I love being able to check in from
anywhere. The image quality is excellent too – both day and
night. The HD clarity is way better than I expected for the
price. Even in lower light, the night vision picks up a lot of
detail. What really sold me though is the solar power. It means I
could install it exactly where I wanted for the best view,
without worrying about running power cables or being near a
socket. It charges well even in typical UK weather, and I haven’t
had to think about the battery once since putting it up. If
you’re looking for a reliable, wire-free, solar security camera
with a brilliant app and crystal-clear video, I’d definitely
recommend this one
Review: Brilliant camera and excellent value - I bought two
cameras, one for the front door to replace a Hive camera that's
being phased out, and one for the back garden. They are really
excellent, amazing value for the price, and the quality and
features are actually better than the much more expensive Hive
camera. Setup was pretty simple if you're used to pairing wifi
devices, and there are lots of ways to optimise the field of
view. The camera can be switched on and off via the app, and you
can set it to deliver alerts just for people. I had to charge the
first camera once in the winter when light levels were low, but
probably my fault for not charging it fully before I installed
it. Since charging, it's been at 99% all the time. All in all,
I'm very happy with my purchase, and would recommend it. Update 1
- I’ve now installed a second camera at the front door and it too
is performing well. I particularly like the speed with which
motion is notified to my phone, as the old Hive camera was very
slow. My only (relatively minor) concern is that the cameras are
very easy to remove from the bracket. Not sure how this could be
fixed, especially as it’s actually quite helpful if I need to
remove it for charging! But still five stars after 6 months use.
Update 2 - both cameras still working well. One is not exposed to
direct sunlight in winter and needs to be charged every couple of
months. I bought a 3 m USB-C lead so that I can attach and charge
the camera without having to take it off the mounting. Takes
about 4 hours to charge, and the camera is operational
throughout.
