Review: Airhug USB microphone - The Airhug USB microphone arrived
extremely well packaged in a robust, premium-looking box that
immediately gave a high-end first impression. Inside, the
microphone was securely protected in its own plastic bag,
alongside a generous 2-metre USB cable and three double ‘washable
and reusable’ tabs for mounting things. The microphone features a
magnetic base, offering flexible mounting options when a standard
magnetic surface isn’t available. Setup is made even easier by
the included full-colour instruction booklet, which uses a large,
clear font and is refreshingly easy to read. In terms of design,
the Airhug is compact and neatly finished. A USB-C port is
located at the rear, while the side houses an “AI” mode button
and a mute control. An easily visible coloured LED clearly
displays the microphone’s status. Upon plugging it in, the LED
immediately illuminated blue, confirming that everything was
working correctly. Connection was quick and straightforward using
the sound settings in the system tray. In use, the microphone
performed very well. Audio pickup was clear and consistent, and
the bright LED indicator made it easy to see the current
operating mode at a glance. Overall, the Airhug USB microphone
combines thoughtful design, simple setup and strong performance,
making it a solid choice for everyday recording, calls or
streaming.
Review: Tiny but great microphone - I really like this
microphone. The pack consists of the microphone, USB A to C cable
and magnetic/self adhesive disk for attachment. I requested this
microphone to add to my desktop computer, and it has been
brilliant. Having a microphone attached has enabled me to use the
dictation facilities in windows, and I even tried a few
conversations with Copilot as well as leaving me voice memos and
using it for WhatsApp calls. In use the microphone works well.
There is an easily accessible mute function on the unit with a
button on the side, as well as an AI noise reduction mode, which
helps when I have my 3D printer running. The status light makes
it clear when the microphone is operational for your own peace of
mind, and it can be quickly and easily removed and reconnected if
you are less trusting on privacy. The magnet on the case works
really well, and I initially set the microphone up on the side
panel of my PC case. I later moved it to a more permanent home
attached to the corner of my monitor, which was easily
accomplished with the self adhesive circle that allowed the
microphone to be positioned magnetically. The device itself is
tiny and has minimal impact on your desk clutter and it it wasn't
for the status light, I could easily forget the microphone is
even there! That said, the simple rounded square is an attractive
and simple design. Overall, this is a fantastic way of adding a
microphone to your computer while only minimally adding clutter
to your desk, and I am really impressed with it.
